A six-day jam packed winter adventure in Slovakia

This week is all about snow, mountains, adventure and new connections! With epic bucket list activities like building igloos and sleeping in them under the stars, hiking across mountain ranges, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sledging down mountains, and don’t forget a well-earned spa day! We’ll tackle all things snow with an amazing group of women 💃 .

The High Tatras might just be the most underrated mountain locations in Europe. The highest mountains in the Carpathians, they occupy a near-mythic place in Slovak hearts.

WINTER ADVENTURE

Build an igloo and sleep in it under the stars

One for the bucket list! We’ll build our own igloos during the day, we’ll make a fire, cook our dinner over it that evening, and sleep in our igloos under the stars that night! Equipment including sleeping materials are provided to keep nice and cosy.

Hike from one mountain village to another

We’ll go up to 1700 meters above sea level and walk across mountain range from one snowy mountain village to another (Tatranaská Polianka to Sliezsky Dom). We’ll have lunch at the highest located hotel restaurant in Slovakia with views of Gerlach, the highest peak in Slovakia.

Snowmobiling through snowy forests

Snowmobile safari through snowy forests. This is a super fun activity with no experience required. We’ll ride in deep snowy fields in the middle of nowhere! We’ll ride two to a ski-doo so even if you don’t want to drive you can still experience zipping through the snow!

Guided

What started thousands of years ago as an essential mode of winter transportation but it’s evolved into a great recreational activity. Special flat shoes are worn over boots that will allow us to move through the snow. There are a few techniques to snowshoeing and we’ll be shown how to use them properly!

Snow Shoeing

Zip down along the longest and lit sledging track from Hrebienok to Starý Smokovec! We’ll get the funicular up and sled our way down to the bottom. No experience required, just great fun!

Relax in a thermal indoor and outdoor spa

We’re firm believers in balance! The nearby (and largest in Slovakia!) wellness spa and waterpark can offer us some much deserved spa time! With multiple saunas, inhalation rooms, a ceremonial sauna with sauna shows, relaxation rooms, an ice cave, a relaxation pool, and hot tub, we won’t be short of ways to relax.

Traditional Mountain lodge in the High Tatras

We’ll be staying in a rustic mountain hotel right in the centre of the High Tatras, for easy access to our mountain based activities! The hotel has a well known restaurant serving traditional delicious Slovak cuisine with specialties prepared in an open fireplace.

A €500 deposit is required to secure your place.

The balance can be paid in full or in two installments two weeks apart. Final balance is due one month before departure.

Once you submit your application to join, we’ll contact you within 24 hours to let you know if a spot is yours. Once we confirm, you can pay the deposit to secure your place.

  • Cancellations

    Deposits are non-refundable.

    28 – 41 days prior to departure 50% of cost excluding deposit

    14 – 27 days prior to departure 75% of cost excluding deposit

    Less than 14 days prior to departure 100% of cost excluding deposit

    The cancellation will only be effective from the date that the cancellation is received in writing by email.

    Travel Insurance

    Personal Travel insurance is required for this trip.

  • This is an active trip that includes a strenuous hike, winter activities, and fast-moving activities like sledding. If any of these activities aren’t for you right now, it might be best to hold out for a trip that you feel more comfortable with.

  • Krakow Airport. Suggested Flights will be sent if a spot is offered to you.

    For reference, flights from Dublin are currently around €190.
